Durango Gear Box Swap:
Got a worn out power steering gear box? The 98-99 Durango (no snowplow package), is an excellent upgrade for YJs, TJs, and XJs. The Durango box is physically larger, more powerful, and stronger, and has a quicker turn ratio. The stock gear box is 3.5 turns lock to lock, while the Durango box is just under 3 turns lock to lock. Should you need more turning radius, the Durango box does have a spacer that can be removed if you don't mind disassembling the gear box. Note that the Durango box uses 3 mount points which is identical to the TJ and XJ bolt pattern. When installing the Durango box on a YJ, you'll only use three of the four mount points.
